Enchanted Others... a review on two movies
Enchanted others...
Today i was grateful to god, reading the scripture, praying to god.
I happened to watch movie clips of Enchanted people. It shows how religiously devout christian women could change totally by a young man. It deals with the civil war between south and north in America. In a christian women's seminary, there appeared an enemy, a northern soldier. He was wounded, the women took care of him very kindly. Almost all women got interested in him, as time went by, sexually. And the man began to enjoy being loved. Woe to him, he kind of played the field with more than one woman lover. His affair was found by fiance like woman. He fell from the stairway, severey wounded in his leg. Head woman decided to cut his leg to cure him. When he awoke, he got mad at all the women. He was enraged, pouring harsh words to women...the women were christians, the head was starred by Nicole Kidman...
This movie Enchanted people remindedme of the other movie of hers, that is, The others. It was a scary horror movie without any scenens of blood or cruel scenes. In the movie the others, nicole was also seen as a devout christian. It was shown as something like an obsession or grave sin or duty...I can not remember any scene that she smiled brightly. She looked pale, and seemed to be obsessive and sad without her husband. He went to war.
I think these two movies have several intrguing points in common.
Main actress in n. Kidman.
She is a devout, and rigid christian.
Background is a real historical war.
She runs the things without man's help.
She, woman is active leader.
She, the leader is gloomy or mentally ill.
The movie or the woman indicates hidden sexual desire.
Her sexuality or just desire is oppressed, maybe christianity.
Western society is christian world, and it is mainly about duty, trespass, sin, and further guilt, obsession.
It seems that two movies speak to audience women obey christian rules of the world, women we are not sinners, but we are not happy, we don't know why...
